Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Praxis ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Praxis is a mobile application that helps private tutors manage their students, schedule sessions, track payments, generate invoices, and analyse their business. The service is provided on a freemium basis with optional paid Pro subscription features.

3. Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You must provide accurate and complete information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Free and Pro Plans

Free plan: Includes up to 5 active students and 20 sessions per month, with 1 Praxis AI action per day.

Pro plan: Unlimited students, sessions, full analytics, AI session summaries, Praxis assistant (10 actions/day), CSV/PDF export, invoice generation, and online payment links. Pricing is shown in the App at time of purchase.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Pro subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). By subscribing:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in App Store → Account → Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play → Subscriptions (Android)
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law
• Prices may change with notice; continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance

6. AI Features (Praxis)

The Praxis AI assistant and AI session summaries are Pro features powered by OpenAI's GPT API. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on it. Do not submit sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary for the feature to function.

Praxis actions are limited to 1 per day (Free) and 10 per day (Pro). Limits reset at midnight UTC.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or security measures
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Use the App to store, process, or transmit another person's personal data without appropriate lawful basis
• Misuse the AI features to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content

8. Data Responsibility

You are the data controller for any student or parent personal data you enter into the App. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis under UK GDPR (or applicable law in your jurisdiction) for processing that data, and for complying with your obligations to data subjects.

9. Payment Processing

If you use the integrated Stripe or Razorpay payment links to collect tutor fees, those transactions are subject to Stripe's and Razorpay's terms respectively. Praxis does not hold or process your funds and is not responsible for payment disputes between you and your students.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, and its content are owned by Praxis App Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for your personal tutoring business purposes.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate. Financial and legal decisions should not be made solely on the basis of App-generated data.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Praxis App Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of profits. Our total liability to you in any circumstances shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings. On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
